Gieten is situated central in the provence of Drenthe.
| Gieten is situated on the N34 main road, running from Groningen-Emmen, and is thus easily reached. Coming by car from Zwolle (via the A28), leave the motorway just before Assen and take the N33 towards Gieten. On arriving at the roundabout at the outskirts of Gieten, take the first right towards Gieten-Emmen, then turn left at the first set of traffic lights. At the centre of Gieten, turn left and follow this road until you see the white façade of Het Zwanemeer Hotel through the trees on your left-hand side. The nearest railway station is in Assen (15 km.). |
